The Hoover Dam is located about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. It sits right upon the Arizona & Nevada border. If you did come here, you might be a tourist, because it is world famous. It is so famous, in fact, that the Chinese are starting to build one just like it. There would be a lot of car noises at the Hoover Dam because you can drive across the top of it. Off to one side is a huge hole that was used to redirect the Colorado River when they were first constructing the dam.
There is a large amount of water held back by this immense structure. It used so much concrete that it could have been used to make a whole city. There are a bunch of animals and plants around the area. You have lizards, snakes and such other things as you would find in the desert. This place shows how much water the earth may have. During the 1980's there was an all time high that was 100ft above average. Then later in 2005, the water was at an all time low. The people here use the water to power electricity all the way to California.
Top two pictures are the Hoover Dam. The one behind the dam is a huge hole in the side of the mountain, beside it.
Fact: The Hoover Dam was used to tame the Colorado. It backed up the water so fast that it started to cause human made earthquakes!

I think the Hoover Dam is a very important structure pertaning to earths waters. It gives us energy as well as a sorce of fresh water. Unlike my location a good thing is happining in yours. my location is causing more harm then good.
The Hoover Dam is a means of using earths waters as a means of power. Power in thins case is electricity.
It uses the water to push turbines to get power. It also is a bridge and a wall to keep a large amount of water in lake form.
In my location theire is a problem . The water leaval rising. At your location their is a soluution. More power. Also it is a renuable source of energy.
